I need a good, slow sappy song about childhood or about children getting older and growing up or about looking back on your childhhood. I am having a video made for my parents for Christmas and am using pictures of them growing up through the years. Please help, and please don't suggest Cat's in the Craddle. My father was always there and did not leave all the time. Nor was my father or mother an: alcholic, boozer, partier, prostitute. Please, serious responses only. I really need some help on this and have to turn in my song choice by Saturday.
Thanks for your help.

Nothing beats "Sunrise, Sunset"... but I also like "Someday" by Sugar Ray. It might fit with your video:

"Someday, when my life has passed me by
I'll lay around and wonder why you were always there for me
One way, In the eyes of a passerby
I'll look around for another try, and fade away
Just close your eyes and I'll take you there
This place is warm without a care
We'll take a swim in the deep blue sea
I go to leave as you reach for me
Some say, better things will come our way
no matter what they try to say
you were always there for me
Someway, when the sun begins to shine
i hear a sing from another time and'll fade away...

Oh, wait how about:

"Show me that smile again.
Don't waste another minute on your crying
We're nowhere near the end
The best is ready to begin!
As long as we got each other
We got the world spinning right in our hands
Baby rain or shine
All the time
We got each other
Sharing the laughter and love"

not really slow, but Old Days by Chicago sounds like it may fit the mold.
Also try Old Friends or Scarborough Affair by Simon And Garfunkel
Just an Old fashioned Love Song--Three Dog Night

Oh, maybe the best one--In My Life--The Beatles--perfect for vidoe footage, and maybe When I'm 64 also by the Beatles

also--Blessed by Elton John is a very moving song

if you really want sappy, there's always Memories (The Way We Were) by Streisand. Her version of Over the Rainbow is also very moving.

How about " Time Marches On", by Allen Jackson. I'm not for sure that's the name of it ,but he says that all through the song so I'm assuming it is. This song is about a family that grows up and gets older and bla, bla, bla you know what I mean. Hope it helps.

A song that I think might be perfect for this is called

"100 years" by Five for Fighting.

Talks about the many different stages of life...

Listen to it, you might like it.
