My 8 month old crawled when he was 6 months and is starting to walk -- almost 2 -4 months ahead of schedule. However, he won't hold his own bottle. So there you go... it just depends on the kid. Also, I babysit a 15 month old most weekdays and she won't hold her own sippy cup (a habit I'm REALLY trying to break!)...
good luck!

I believe that it all depends on the temperament of the baby. My daughter is a VERY independent soul. She was "helping" hold her bottle by the time she was 3 months and doing it by-herself by the time she was almost 4 months old.
My eldest son didn't really care about holding the bottle, but he finally started to get the hang...hold of it by 6 months old.
My youngest LOVED to eat......you couldn't feed him enough. (He is still that way to this day!) He held his bottle by-himself by the time he was 3 1/2 months old.
Like all things developmental, each baby is going to take each milestone at their own pace and not follow the "plan" in those silly baby books. Just enjoy each day and each now thing that they do, because this stage will soon end and you will miss it!

Well he should now be putting forth an effort to hold his bottle but he still can't quite get it. it may be a little heavy for him. i say give him another 1 1/2 months and he should have it down-packed. i hope my son starts holding his bottle around 3 or 4 months. i have 8 weeks left so yea im excited and nervous at the same time, lol.

He will probably hold his bottle in between 2 and a half and three. But if you will be able to teach him, even I don't know that answer! But I estimate if you teach him he will hold it by the time he is still two and a half!!!

My baby started when he was about 4 month but he wasn't strong enough. Now he is 6 month and he's much better at it.

Probably within a couple months. But be thankful whenever it is cause my son is 15 months old and can't even hold his head up. He has cerebral palsy though. I have five other kids and I just wanted to share that.

Depends on the infant.....they grow at their own individual pace. Usually starting from 5 months they can do it.
