Dimonds are mined by africans in mines owned by people forign to their lands. The working conditions are hazardous to their health. Dimonds are often found near naturally occuring asbestos. The miners work to make the dimond owners and cuters and brokers and dealers very rich but are not paid enough to live above the poverty level. Sorry about the missspelling. I'm kind of not sure why you want to focus on that though, and I don't appreciate being called an Idiot. By the way, most of the diamonds come from Africa, although I am aware, there are other sources.

Getting the American public to believe that only a diamond will do for an engagement ring was one of the most manipulative advertising schemes that has ever been devised. I can't imagine why anyone in their right mind would be so superficial as to want to spend a huge chunk of their yearly salary on a tiny colorless rock that was acquired by submitting natives to hazardous work conditions just to keep up with the Jones'.

Whenever I see some woman showing off a big expensive diamond, I can't help but think, "You poor thing, you really can't think for yourself, can you? I bet everything you own has to have a designer tag, too, doesn't it?

Seriously, why not try a more interesting, less clichéd semi-precious stone in your engagement ring? Diamonds are boring to say the very least.

Preach away friend. The rocks are pretty. Not all of them come from Africa. They are called diamonds, not dimonds.

Did you mean diamonds? Isn't there a spell check for these sorts of things?

What's the matter magistra_linguae, did someone forget to buy you a diamond?
