hi,

I have no idea how to dance in a night club :-(

Could somebody please explain me?

I went to night clubs a few times but I felt so uncomfortable on the dance floor, this was so awkward... so I don't go to night clubs anymore.

But some of my friends want me to go again, so what should I do.

Please explain me a technique.

Thank you so much in advance!!

N.B. I'm a 25 year old female

I go clubbing all the time and have been complimented by go-go dancers out in Vegas. I am a 28 year old female. Here are some tips-

1) You have to learn to move to the rythem in the music, any music, this means you have to sway your hips to a drum beat for example.

2) Different kinds of music call for different dancing styles. I dance eletronica/techno. Hip-hop dancing has a lot more grinding (rubbing your rump against your partner) whereas techno can be very all by yourself.

3) The first few times, especially if you are uncomfortable dancing, will always make a person nervous. I don't drink either so, luckily, I don't get embarrassed. If you do drink don't get drunk but a drink or two might loosen you up.

4) If you are single flirt with a guy who is a good dancer. They might be able to help you lose some of the nervousness.

5) You are dancing for yourself. Don't worry about what anyone thinks. However, if you do want to be concerned practice at home to some cds or the radio or if you have satellite music even better. No interruptions and you can try out a variety.

6) Believe it or not cheerleaders do a lot of dance moves. If you catch any of the competitions or go to any games pay attention to the arm movements. They are always very precise and they move, in general, to the beat of the music.

I hope some of this comes in useful. Best Wishes and go have FUN!

Of course everybody needs relaxation and entertainment. As Christians we are a little more choosy with where we go, what we see and hear. For the obvious reasons of course. We would not want to damage our good standing with God. We don't want to put ourselves or others into situations that we later regret. So, what can you do ? If you like dancing, why not organise "dancing lessons" with people from your congregation and other congregations ? Or even organise it at someone's home. A small group with a mature married couple ? There are some restaurants where you can dance after dinner and some of those places are quite nice. But there are so many other things you can do with your friends. Bowling, golfing, canoeing, surfing, riding your bicycle and camp overnight combining it with a visit to a congregation or some other activities. Playing cards or karaoke , or any other games can be fun too. Someone needs to organise it. Maybe you can ask a friend to help you ?

Just be natural. Dont think about it, otherwise then it will look sucky!
Start by fiding the beat!! It all had to do with the beat! THen start at ur head, bob to the beat, then slowly go down your body, move your shoulders (ALWAYS IN TIME TO BEAT!) then skip your arms, move to your waist then your knees - try and get your upper and lower body working together in time then add feet and arms!
Biggest tip, just let it come. If u think too much about what you 'should' be doing then yeh, u wont look good and wonta ttract those hotties. Most ppl can find the beat, it should just come naturally - especialyl with RnB and Dance beats!

And of course, HAVE FUN!

Relax, and listen to the music. Then just let your body go with the music and you can also watch other people. Don't overanalyze it.

Just do what feels good. Nobody is really paying attention. Just have fun. Who cares what everyone else thinks.
