"It is worse than ever. The problem is that our U.S. government and the Iraqi ‘Government' tell the world that things are improving here when they are not. All of the rebuilding bull crap is nothing but a scam that is worse than the oil-for-food program . We have ONE hour of electricity a day now. I have power to turn on some lights and my computer by way of a little generator that I hooked up to my office today. A gallon of gas costs over $4 now, when the salary of an engineer is less than $200 a MONTH."

I definitely would not thank that incompetent idiot.

Its hard to say how any of us would feel about the situation. None of us live in Iraq, and we don't first hand know the previous conditions compared to the conditions now. I believe that yes, Iraq deserves to be free and democratic IF THEY SO CHOOSE. You can't tell me that, with all the casualties our military has taken since the war began, that the Iraqi people were uncapable of overthrowing their leader if they'd really wanted to. If they would have put as much effort into making themselves free from Saddam as they put into killing our troops, it should have been an easy task. Our version of democracy is nothing but another idea being forced on them by someone else.

Depends, it really depends. If I was a supporter of Saddam, I wouldn't. If I had a family member or friend killed by US soldiers, I wouldn't. Not saying I support him or I'm against the soldiers, just letting you know there are holes in your argument. As for trying to install democracy, shouldn't they choose if they want to give themselves democracy, or are they not competent enough?

With my whole heart. Before the invasion, people (including women and children) could go out in the streets and come back alive, without any fear of getting killed. Now, well, you know. Power to vote and elect government versus everyday bombs and deaths - which is better ?

Yes, I would thank him for removing Saddam and trying to give me a voice in my own government, as opposed to Saddam's oppression

No, I think that the price that they are paying is too high. And the price for the families in the US for this democracy war, based on misinformation and lies, is too high as well.
