About 20 weeks is usually the time frame when you can tell the sex through an ultra sound. If for some reason you need an amino you could probably tell at 15 weeks.

ive heart of it being possible! im 13 weeks and will be 15 weeks at my next appointment so i hope so lol!!!! go to google and look it up thats where i found ultrasound pics of babies at 13-15 weeks showing them as a boy or girl:) GOODLUCK!

The absence of the penis must not be taken as sufficient evidence of the fetus being a girl. The 3-lines sign which denotes the labia in the fetus is a very valid and accurate indication of the female gender. Most of the time one should be able to tell the sex of the baby by about 20 weeks and very often even at sixteen. With modern equipment, the diagnosis can be made even as early as 11 to 12 weeks

that was something i googled lol

I think you have to be about 17-18 weeks pregnant before they can tell the sex. But me personally, no I've never found out at 15 weeks

I found out the sex of my baby at 18 weeks. 15 weeks might still be a little too early. I've read that the best time to check would be around 18 weeks and onward. My husband kind of felt like 18 weeks was a little too early to determine that we're having a boy. So, 2 weeks ago (I was 30 weeks) we asked our sonographer to check again to make sure. Sure enough, we're still having a boy!

Good luck and congratulations!!! :)

I never found out til the 20th week, however that was also 10 yrs ago (since my last child)---My cousin recently had a baby and at 16 weeks they did a 3-d ultrasound and it showed them the baby would be a boy and when she had the baby (1 yr ago)--it was a boy--so yes you can--at least with a 3-D ultrasound

With my first son, I found out at 17 weeks during an amniocentesis because my husband at the time had a rare genetic disorder. I found out not only was my child genetically normal, he was a boy.

It can be done earlier with a CVS (Chorionic Villus Sampling), but that happens in rare cases.

By ultrasound? Possibly at the first major ultrassound exam at 18 to 20 weeks.

I didn't find out the sex of my second son (by ultrasound) until almost 43 weeks into my pregnancy (I was 44.5 weeks when I had him).

My friend did at 7weeks. She's an older mom so they ran genetics tests on the baby. It's a girl. Apparently there are risks in having the test and it is uncomfortable, but it is definitive.
