they're "boy" shorts not "guy" shorts. us grown guys might not wear anything like that. but little boy underwear looks somewhat like girls' "boy shorts"

I think they call them boy shorts because they look like the shorts that the NBA players used to wear.

They are called boy shorts b/c of the length. If you notice normal girl shorts and boy shorts, girls shorts are shorter than guys. But now they are making shorts for girls the same length as boy shorts....so...there you go.
