Me and my husband already have two children. My husband had a vasectomy about the middle of october. For the past month or so we have been having unprotected sex. He hasn't went back for his check up yet. Someone said it was possible to get pregnant up to 6 months after a vasectomy, is this true? I have been experiencing symptoms of early pregnancy, but the doctor told him he should be cleared out after about 15 ejaculations.

It is possible to get pregnant after vasectomy. I know of two people who have. I also know that when my brother-in-law got fixed, the first time it didn't work so they actually had to put him under and do it over again, like way more invasive.

I had the check done after six months, and it was clean. I still continued to use condoms for almost a year after my vasectomy. I still use them with new partners, and I only date women that can't get pregnant anyway, because I can't have kids. I had one of the "traditional vasectomies" (the type that has been around for 100 years). If he got one of those new "quicker" vasectomies, like the "clip" or "open ended", etc, the failure rate is pretty high.

Vasectomies are not 100% guaranteed, regardless what the doctors want to make you believe. My father had one like 10 years before he met my mom, and only 2 years after they met, I came along. As Living proof that they aren't 100 %, It is possible to become pregnant after he has the procedure

Your husband should have given a sperm sample a week after the surgery and about 3-4 weeks after the surgery, just to make sure there aren't any more little guys in there. My husband had a vasectomy 3 years ago and the doctor was very adamant about him doing the samples. He cleared him after the second sample. We had to use other birth until the doctor said it was alright.

After his vasectomy, he is supposed to go in so many weeks later for a sperm test to make sure the surgery worked. Until then you both should consider him still shooting sperm. So yes, there is every chance you could be preggy. Until its been confirmed, then you don't know it suceeded. Go schedule him a test!

I would have expected his doc strongly informed him of what was necessary after his vasectomy. In any case, I guess it's time for you to have a visit with your OBGYN. I have my fingers crossed for you.
