Does Tony Blair not know the level of poverty in Britain.
It is cheaper to go to McDonalds for a meal(most meals are 99p)
or the Chippy a small fish &chips 99p-£1.99 in Brum anyway.
There are a lot of women who don't know how to cook a good wholesome meal for their family and these women were all brought up with this Government statistically 1 in 5 children can't read or write when they leave school, so what hope have they got regarding cooking.
I'll bet most of these overweight children's parents are just as fat and haven't worked in years if ever.
Question is would Tony Blair be better Educating the Parents of overweight Children or should he put tax's up and give anyone over 9 stone who asks for a stomache band the operation

I wish Mr Blair would ask why people they are over eating, taking no exercise, on drugs, being anti social, getting drunk etc. would he be told it's because life in England at present is a pretty stressed out, poorly paid, terrorist targetted, over taxed and miserable place to live in? Thanks Tony.

No doubt that this is yet another crazy idea, there are far better ways of loosing excess fat. Stomach stapling is risky and can result in death. The method of restricting the stomach with a balloon is far better, and can be removed after enough weight is lost. Yes education is a better idea, but people are often taught things of no value to them, so it is important to select the right sort. Jillian Mc Kieth and people like her would soon have people heading the right direction.
Why do yo say that their parents "Probably haven't worked for years", Don't you think that is just a little judgemental and unkind?
Putting tax up to pay for already small people have this operation would be a stupid waste of money, (9 stone is rather on the weedy side).

Tony Blair replaced his faith like i alter underpants. He switched over to Roman Catholicism now perchance he's finding at islam, in spite of the undeniable fact that I doubt it. many human beings examine the koran very oftentimes, they do this to comprehend the inaccuracies and contradictions, the lies and violent hatred that it is composed of. I even have oftentimes examine the koran, many times while i ought to combat hearth with hearth, it quite is a e book that ought to be examine with the help of all standard human beings so as that they could comprehend the way it quite is little better than a dreadfully corrupted and perverted version of the Judeo/Christian faith.

Remember the other crazy ideas? £5,000 fines for not ensuring that your child went to school. Yobs to be frogmarched to cash machines to pay fines. The zany scheme (which has gone very quiet) where young people could save for their deposit on their first house or flat. Maximum saving (including govt handout) in one year was to be £1,000. Very useful indeed when house prices have increased by 11% or £20,000 in one year. Keep 'em coming, Tony!

It LOOKS crazy on the surface. But overweight people use all sorts of medicine on the NHS, may need treating for diabets, etc.
In the long run it is probably cost effective.

It is ridicules in the case of children to have such an operation.
I do believe an operation on B-liar to curb him talking would be more effective.

You focus on poverty being the cause of obesity, then blame it on parents. Please be consistent if you are going to have a valid argument!
