going down the freeway all the sudden it started like jumping up and down. Now today, going down the road about 50 mph it starts doing it again. The only way I was able to get home was to down shift and drive 30 mph all the way back in no more than 3rd gear. This is a 92 model chevy truck and I don't know engine size or anything technical about anything. It is a 5 speed. When it starts jumping it also won't accelerate. We recently had the transmission redone on it also. If you know what this could possibly be and how much it would cost, please tell me.

well your problem sounds like a front end problem. When you say you had the front end replaced, what all did you replace. I highly doubt the whole front end got replace. Usually a worn out pitman arm or steering box will cause your problem. I would start there. But like another person said, I would take it back to the place you had it fixed at to begin with. Hope this helps

I believe that your description is too vague. Is the car accelerating and decelerating? That can seem like jumping up and down. If the front end is actually jumping then you have something loose or completely out of balance. Go back to where you had the front end work done and describe the condition to them.

Sounds like an engine problem. Take it to an auto technician and have it diagnosed.

Because it's a Chevy! (sorry, but they always say that when it's a Ford truck)

just a shot in the dark here but could your driveshaft need rebalancing ? , phone the tranny shop and ask where they get theirs done .
