I have a very nice system where I rent dvds from my library and then burn them to dvd±r's and then add them to my collection. My local library has new releases for 50 cents a day and no-one can place a hold on rental dvds. I have amassed a very large number of dvds this way.
Don't tell anyone this but I also download full-length dvds (not the shitty 700MB avi's you find on P2P networks) from a usenet server that I pay a small fee per month. A very good investment for access to literally hundreds of content servers filled with goodies of everything you can imagine!

I haven't rented a movie in over a year. I buy a DVD every once in a while.

I used to do both, but now I just go ahead and buy them (it's cheaper in the long run) as when renting I can really rack up the late charges.

I just go ahead and buy them. If you get them the week they are released they're cheaper. When you rent a dvd it cost little 6.99 and you have to return it. Buying is better!

I usually buy them, when I rent them I usually end up buying them anyways so buying them saves money in the long run

i used to employ yet now i only purchase b/c it were given to the point the position each of the DVDs i rented will be scratched up and couldn't watch them. i joined a dvd club so i have gotten some rather reliable bargains.

We rent most of the time... we only buy when it's not available in the video city shop ;-)
