I think you should find another outlet for your mothering instincts. Perhaps you could volunteer, try a day care center, a large foster home, or even a shelter that takes in families with kids, or maybe join the big sisters program.
Forcing your husband into doing something he doesn't want to is just not fair to EITHER your husband or the child who you'd be bringing into an evironment where they weren't fully wanted. Those kids have been through enough of that already.
Best of luck to you.

Its best not to foster if your husband doesnt agree, because you will need the extra support from him and so will the child. A divided house wont be a happy one.

Coming from a foster parent of 9 yrs. It is a lifetime commitment, if you are not solid in your decisions , you are giving them the impression your relationship could be weak, able to persuade one of you over the other. And to be frank these children need some stability and if they think they are going to hurt another relationship they could start to think that it is them that is the problem in this world. Many blessings but alot of work. Alot of chaos, kids know love from chaos that is what they are used to. Not always willing to get unconditional love.

Just like blood children. It takes two. If he is unwilling then your SOL. However, you could sit him down and explain your feelings and desire to help those less fortunate.
Foster parenting is hard work. Harder than regular parenting. These children are coming from rough backgrounds, and usually have poor coping skills.

Don't. That is too big of a responsibility for someone that isn't signing up for it and it isn't fair to him.
Maybe you can volunteer on your own at Boys and Girls Town or be a Big Sister, or some other youth projects where you can contribute, but don't have to completely alter your husband's lifestyle.

That is a major decsion in which I would not do unless my husband wanted to as well. You will only create conflict & resentment.
