Okay, the problem with any who will win question with reguards to Wolverine is this: you really can't kill him.
Well you can, but it would take a nuclar missle or something that would destory every part of him at once. As far as I know the most Wolverine has ever recovered from was losing his right arm up to the elbow in SNIKT!
My knowlege of Sandman is not very good (i've only seen my friend beat him in a spiderman game) but I'm guessing that any damaged he does to Wolverine would not be enough to really hurt him. But then he is made of sand, so as long as he dosn't do anything stupid (like be solid enough to be cut into pieces) the fight would end in a standstill.
END RESULT: Neither would really win, Wolverine can't be put down unless you nuke him, Sandman can't be cut up into little pieces by Wolverine's claws. The battle would end when one or the other is too tired to continue and/or runs away.

I have thought about this scenario before. Sandman definitely has an advantage because wolverine needs to breathe in order to survive. He can't survive being smothered by a bunch of sand in his face. If any marvel character has the upper hand against wolverine, it's sandman.

sandman if he ever thought to attack him in his sleep before the fight.but if the sandman doesnt think of it wolverine would woop his hind end
