They are different -- just look closely at your own!
And who is "only" printing the right hand index finger? I had to get mine done for a background check to work in Family Court and they did all ten of them!!
If you are talking about as security for a laptop, etc., then 1 finger is all that is really needed for that.

no they are not at all the same.. infact every finger's fingerprints are different.. and they only use the right finger because that is how they recognize every person in the world.. if they started using other fingers it would be very difficult for them..

i dont think they are the same. however from experience all fingers on both hands are printed.
