Don't be fooled by the press. It is just more fear mongering.

For those of you who answered "cook at home" I have a follow up question...Are you a farmer/rancher? You have no idea who handled your food if you bought it at the grocery store. Unless you grow your own vegetables and slaughter your own animals, you are at as much risk cooking at home as you are eating in a restaurant.

(Greg) Creed (president of Taco Bell) underscored the safety mantra in media interviews, telling Associated Press Television that he had assured his daughter, a college freshman in New York, and her friends that Taco Bell food is safe.
"I can assure you, I would not tell my daughter that unless I absolutely believed it," Creed said.

considering millions of people eat the bell every day and there are very few reports of food poisoning, i would say that's a safe statement. too much bell can clog the arteries though. consume the bell in moderation.

I didn't even know that it was supposedely not safe... shows how much attention that I pay to the news. Press is misleading, I thoroughly enjoy taco bell, I like my cooking better of course but their food is alright and is very inexpensive, you can get like 2 meals and then some for around $10, it costs about 16-20 everywhere else and you get just as much.
You seem very passionate about liberating taco bell... do you work there or something?

I don't think it was ever safe. The very few times I have eaten there I have gotten sick, and the food just has this look to it that says "unhealthy". I've just about quit eating out. You are putting your life in other people's hands. Have you ever been in a public restroom and seen how many people go out the door without washing their hands? Some are the people who wait on you in these restaurants. You are putting your health in hands of these people, and some of them look like they could care less about cleanliness. They should put hidden cameras at the sink area and fire anyone caught not washing their hands.

I like the convenience of eating fast food on occassion but Taco Bell has had too much bad publicity. It seems they have had too many outbreaks of Hep. A. I know that you can never be sure who is handling your food but I've not heard of these outbreaks with McDonalds, Hardees, etc. In my opinion no Taco Bell's food is not safe.

Of course he's going to say that it is perfectly safe to eat there. He wants people to come back so he can continue making a profit.
