I went to see Dhoom:2 recently here in the USA with some friends. I was SHOCKED! whats up with all the sexuality? i think the guys are so hot, but they emphasize the physical beauty way too much in both the men and women. The women, including Aishwarya were dressed too sexy for the weather! its not necessary for her to always be wearing a bra and mini-skirt. AND THEY EVEN KISSED WITH TONGUE!! i thought the movies were better when you had to imagine what their bodies where like.. Do you agree? of course the film industry has excelled, but i like movies like Umrao-jaan alot more. very colorful and traditional.

Dont get me wrong...the movie was quite entertaining..especially the parts with the dancing scenes. but what im saying is that the women dont have to be naked in EVERY scene ( i mean jeans and a nice short top is still hot)..but they wore miniskirts and bra-like tops almost the whole movie. and the guys where all oiled up with their shirts open. and whats up with all them wearing colored contacts? arent they happy enough with natural dark brown eyes and dark hair?

I am from India and i want to tell you that i am really surprised at the answers this question is getting from people from abroad. Why you ask,i will tell you, what you saw in Dhoom 2 was not at all what all you guys say,ie: disgusting,i strongly condemned this accusation that Dhoom 2 was way out of its league as far as exposure is concerned.I think they have added right amount of exposure(skin shows, there is just ONE KISS) to attract the crowds and guess what,it has worked, the movie is doing roaring business everywhere.Talking about Umrao Jaan, since it is a period film, you cant expect them to wear anything other than the clothes that were prevailing at that time(colourful, traditional & minimum exposure). To sum it up Indians audience mostly care about in a Movie is the entertainment it provides, take the case of Yashraj's Neil & Nikki,i mean this movie,i agree, had excessive skin show & as was Vulgar, but what happened to the movie,it flopped, why?,cause the entertainment factor was missing, as opposed to that even though Dhoom 2 was an average movie(loose script, songs popping up anytime) still the movie was entertaining(Amazing stunts, brilliant choreography,Hrithik Roshan was mind blowing).

I'm Canadian, and a teenager, but I cant agree more with you ... they seem to be veering away from tradition and culture (their own anyways) and have started to emphasize the shallow Western culture (not that Im saying all western cultures are shallow ... the problem seems to be that they are only internalizing the shallow portions of the western culture) ... For people like me, indian movies are a gateway to witness the culture I dont experience on an everyday basis ... it seems to be getting near impossible ...
ps: Hrithik and Aish do have naturally coloured eyes ... but I agree with everything else! =)

Well...very soon...U will see Indian movie makers revert back to custom, tradition & clean cinema ! Ravi Chopra has announced that he would be making an 8 hr movie on the greatest event ever occured, the Mahabharata. The cost of this movie would be Rs 300 crores. There will be 1000 characters in the movie & I promise u that this movie will convince all the Bollywood film-makers go back to their original Indianness while making movies.

We watch these too from time to time. I mean they were never my favorites (almost always chickflicks), but at least they weren't filled with every vice and vile depravity known to man...guess that has changed. I knew it would only be a matter of time; Bollywood is a copy of Hollywood...and now all the more. What a shame. Now the movies are filled with the same crap that American movies are.
Boo@bollywood!

they are contaminated with a bout of westernization. yet they take it too a ways. My loopy father and mom used to employ bollywood action pictures that were set in the rustic. yet now rather a lot one and all has a "music" in a strip club and incorporating English words which incorporates "Yeah guy! it really is cool! actually a woman would like this fool!" heavily... WTF.
