What kind of voodoo is looking at inkblots anyway? How would someone know whether their psychiatrist failed the inkblot final exam? Of course, if somebody is willing to pay hundreds of dollars to a complete stranger, they SHOULD have their head examined. How would a psychiarist heal themself, by talking to themself? It would be crazy for someone earning hundreds of dollars an hour, to go pay hundreds of dollars to someone else I think, unless they had a really cool inkblot hanging on their wall.

Sanity is the ablity to percieve simularities, differences, and Identeties.
psychiatrist: somebody that treats the mind.
if you want to know if he is crazy ask him what a mind is? Insanity would be the oposite of sanity. Insane people can't tell the defferance between anything and everything is the same there are no defferences and nothing is indevidual. Now when you ask what the mind is and he starts describing the brain ask him if his stake dinner talked to him or had feelings or something strange like that. The fact is when life leaves the peace of meat the meat does not think anymore. That life is the mind he is supose to know about and treat to make better. If a person can't see this then he is insane certainlly if the man gets paid to study the mind the guy must be crazy because this is a basic datum of his profesion. So that is how you can tell if he is crazy or not.

hope this helps

Generally speaking a psychiatrist is seen to diagnose very specific mental illnesses that often require medication for monitoring. Most therapy is conducted by psycologists or clinical social workers. There are many different approaches to counceling and their results depend completely on the type of problems a person is having and how comfortable they are with their counselor. If you think your psychiatrist is crazy then find a new one. Either that or you're crazy and then maybe the world really is out to get you. Sorry, couldn't resist.

it sounds like your psychiatrist is relying heavily on the psychoanalytic tradition. you're right its outdated we don't value it much anymore. the ink blot test is pretty unreliable too. this doesn't necessarily mean he's crazy, just that he's not the best for you. for therapy, wont dont you see a ph.d instead of an M.d.? they are better trained for therapy, you only need an m.d. for the drugs!

A psychiatrist is basically someone you pay to spent time with. You can do the same thing with a really good friend.
