yes, I have in fact proven this to be true.
One day, at swim practice.... I was running beside the pool (which you should never do, trust me) when I slipped, and my foot hit the pavement as I fell into the pool. I cried like a baby underwater as I sank to the bottom, having fractured my toe. I did all my crying underwater because I didn't want my teammates to see me bawling when I resurfaced. I proceeded to swim laps for an hour with a broken toe (that hurt!) and no crying.
I'm a firm believer in the 'no crying' rule during sports.
(unless you do it underwater when nobody's looking)
