Get a towel or blanket and throw it over the Iguana. Then pin it down near the shoulders and the base of the tail, until you have a tight grip. Once you have that, it may wiggle or try to spin. Try to avoid letting it spin, it can hurt itself or yourself.
Once you have a good hold on the neck/shoulders and the base of the tail, pick it up and run for the cage, which should be open. If it wiggles, set it down and pin it to the ground again until it stops. Keep doing that until you get it in.
Could also try wrapping it up with the blanket, that way it can not spin or anything very much.
Be careful of its claws, they can cut you vary easily. You may want to have long sleeves and gloves on as a precaution too.
Good luck.

If he's loose in the house look in warm places. Many iguanas when they get loose end up behind the fridge; it is really hot back there. Check underneath and behind the couches. Or in any place that stays warm. Also check places that are up high, on top of book cases, etc. He will get hungry; set out a couple plates of greens in different places, and keep a close eye on which ones get eaten, then you will know where he is hiding.

If he knows you are scared of him then he will be agressive towards you. When he comes out looking for food, grab a towel and pick him up. It is really that simple. I have a 6 ft iguana too and I pick mine up all the time. Just make sure you pick him up carefully so you don't hurt him. Best of luck!!!

We had a problem with a very aggresive large iguana. We used brooms to carefully shoo him back into his cage. Just be careful they will jump and they like to go to for the face. If you can shut it in the room it is in and wait for your dad. It will be very difficult to wrestle him. You will get ripped up. If you don't have help you should wait. They may be vegitarians but they can be really aggresive. Especially during mating season....
