Jackets and sweaters that are a silk blend that I have bought often have a distinct, musty odor to them, even brand-new. Why is this and what can I do to fix it?

I always thought that this odor was from the factory, the warehouse or the shjips hold or shipping containers.
Try sending it to the dry cleaners, putting it in a small closet with a strong sachet or misting the air around it with febreeze

I have the same problem with a tunic sweater that I have. It smells musty no matter how many times I wash it or have it cleaned.

that is the distinct scent of silk. It tells you that you spent your money on quality merchandise. And it tells others that you have good taste. Anything you do to try to remove the scent will ruin the fabric!

Usually raw silk. Smell before you buy. Nothing makes it go away.
