She would spread her legs for a hobo if he gave her a cigarette. I joked with her that we would have to bury her in a Y-shaped coffin although the humour was entirely lost on her. I don't understand her. I wish she would start respecting herself and I wish there was something I could do to help her in this regard. She's an adult though and has her own life to live I realise. This is mainly the reason I've stayed out of her business but it just seems to have gotten out of hand. Some of these men she sleeps with are beyond disgusting. Has anyone else tried to help a friend or family member with something like this? How did you go about it? Thanks.

The best thing you can do is have a 1 on 1 talk with your sister. (Sincerely one on one), and maybe get some help from social work.

Telling her she's a skank won't help. In fact it will only offend her. Hard as it may be if she doesn't see a problem with the way she is acting no matter what you say or do will change the way she acts. The best thing to do is not to step away completely but try to show her that she deserves to be with someone who will respect her. Make sure she understands that you are only speaking to her about it because you care.

It's the way she's wired. Perhaps there was some abuse in her past. Either way, the one thing I know about people is that they almost never change. You can change minor things but the major things stay basically the same. You can get a new paint job, but the structure of the house remains the same. You trying to convince her that the way she's living is disguisting will probably have no effect. Sorry.

Actually, having a guy talk to her about it may be more effective. Do you know any guys that are nice and would talk to her about how she's hurting herself? I've tried telling a girl I know she's too precious to be doing that and she needs to find other ways to feel accepted and loved, but the sad thing is, she is guaranteed someone to pay her attention if she is a nasty skank.

Honestly it is her choice to choose the lifestyle she obviously has chosen. You could take the worried approach to her and explain to her why you think she should stop. Too many sexual partner will not only give you a bad reputation but could result in diseases (even when wearing a condom) and also what happens when she goes home with someone who turns out to be a rapist or something like that.

You're the one with the problem - I'm guessing you lack self-respect as well as respect for others. And that your real issue with your sister has nothing to do with "sleeping around". Identify it and deal with it, and don't wear her down with "nasty skank" talk. Leave her to sort out her sex life, if it needs sorting out. It's not your business.

I think you really need to keep talking to her and find out why she has such low self esteem. She has a reason - she just doesn't want to tell anyone. I used to act that way when I was young, the reason was that I had no father, and my mother was too wrapped up in her own life. She was a struggling single mom trying to find us a new father (struck out several times), So I thought I didn't matter to anyone so I didn't matter to me either.

sometimes once a habit has gotten out of control its hard to quit its like an addiction to them and there is nothing you can do not even talk cause its going to go in one ear and out the other. its goin to take her to help her. maybe if you could get her to watch a show or the news that show how guys kill females and how they take advantage of females like her it might atleast get her to thinking show her all the commercials about aids that they have on t.v every five seconds.

Try buying her a Big Dildo for X Mas, or buy her a escort service night out with a hunk of a guy so she knows what to look for in men.
