Will she have her baby before Christmas. We live 11 hours away and don't want to drive down for Christmas unless... because we can only be gone for a week.

If she's 50% effaced and slightly dalated, and today is the 13th. You'll probably going to have a christmas baby. Jan. 1st is still a while away. I would pack my baga and have them waiting by the door in case she calls to let you know.

well... according to my calculator she's 37 weeks and 2 days pregnant and if this is her first baby she could walk around slightly dilated and effaced for a good 3 more weeks or more. If this is the second + she could go any minute since it's safe now. If you're worried have her ask her OB when she goes each week to see how much she has progressed. That should give you some warning. Good luck

No I don't think she will have her baby until after christmas. I was 100% effaced and dilated 1-2 and still didn't have my baby until several weeks later. But if this is her second child then I would say yes. But for a first no .

Every woman is different. With all of my children I went into labor the day that I had a doctors appointment. Each time I was 100% effaced and 1 cm. dilated. It seemed when they gave me my exam it helped me go into labor. Also I want to say if it is her first baby, the labor process is not always longer. I was only in labor for 5 hours and pushed 20min until our first was delivered.

It is too hard to predict as only time will tell. Why not wait till she is in labor to drive down? That way your family Christmas celebration will begin with the best gift of all. Good Luck and Congrats!

Just wait for awhile. I'm sure she is going in for frequent check-ups to see if she is dialating further. If this is her first baby, there is a good chance that you will have plenty of time to drive down if she calls you from the first contraction!

Nope. i'm 36.5 weeks pg and that i'm 2cm dilated and 70% effaced and the infant has dropped. you ought to stay the way you're for some more desirable weeks or go at any time. fairly there is not any way of guessing once you'll go into demanding paintings till you're in demanding paintings. reliable success

In situations like that, she can go at anytime. Though the process tends to be slower for the first baby. I would have a bag packed and be ready. Good Luck

I am sure it will happen soon, before the New Year, even Christmas. When her water breaks, look out. And CONGRATULATIONS!
