There is not even a question here. You get the "snip". Her going in for a hysterectomy is a major in-patient operation which can also have major side effects on her hormone levels, which can change a person's personality, weight and other things drastically. A vasectomy is out-patient surgery where you feel like you've been kicked down there for about a day, and then it's over. It doesn't affect anything else to do with you. It does not "neuter" you or make you have a lower sex drive or have any side effects. Don't worry- get the vasectomy, you'll be just fine. :)

If you and your wife have decided that 3 kids is enough and that you have stable lasting relationship. Then BE a man and go get snipped don't leave the contraception to your wife.. It will change your life and remove the worries of any further unwanted pregnancies.

3 kids are plenty if you want more adopt. It's quicker for the man to have the snip. Recovery is short. Now for the woman to have it done it's about a 6 week recovery. Through my own personal experience years ago my husband had it done and later on due to medical problems I too had to have surgery. I would consult with a doctor and check medical histories for your wife to see if cervical cancer or several other problems could run in her family. If the problems have a potential of arising you may want to go another direction.

You should have the snip. She has allready gave birth to three kids. Really though, it is a major operation for the women and very simple procedure for the man. Good Luck

I did a great bit of research on this same issue and came to this conclusion. It's less invasive and much more affordable to have yourself snipped. There are a great deal more medical issues that come from her having her tubes tied, etc. Your recovery will be much faster and it is possible to have the procedure reversed should you decide you want to have more children.
I vote for the vasectomy!

have the snip, i did no problems, but if your wife has it,then maybe she might go into early menopause or all her hormones become unbalanced,not a very nice thing to experience. Slight discomfort for a couple of weeks but then freedom from worry

If she went thru the nine months of carrying these children , how hard could it be for you to have a procedure that you dont not get put under for, a procedure that takes alot less than 9 months and lord knows how long the labor was. And one that is much cheaper and if by chance wanted another child is reversible. :}
