I get migraines a couple of times a month but they last alot longer around my cycles. I used to take Ibuprophen for them but am trying to layoff over the counter drugs and take the homeopathic approach.

I used to have migraines around my period, but I found that I had to watch what foods I ate. There are some that gave me headaches...almonds, some spices (like in pepperoni or other sausages)

Migraines can ruin your day, my daughter's migraines started after her "slight concussion" last year. We took her to a neurologist, and he prescribed a new medicine that she only takes during "that time of the month" maybe only once a month, and it's really, really helped.

She also watches what food she eats, and can't drink certain teas, or eat certain spicey foods
Another thing that helped is to stay away from artificial sweeteners like nutrasweet, that gives her migraines big time!

I also found a headache medicine you may want to try, the link is below

If you want to try something completely safe and avoid the drugs, sometimes an imbalance of your calcium/magnesium is to blame for migraines. Go to GNC and get their supplement that has the 2:1 ratio and is highest in dose, the 1200/600. Good luck

I received a mail recently warning avoid taking pain killers because it reduces your tolerance to pain in long period. Try soaking your feet in warm water with some relaxing spa oil. Rest your feet higher than your sitting position. This helps to circulation blood flow. Also, if pain gets untolerable, take a can of 100plus or similar sort of drink. Hope it helps.
