No I haven't forgotten the true meaning of Christmas. It is a day to celebrate the birth or My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. it is a day to show love and happiness and to show that you are grateful for having another day, seeing another Christmas, and another year all together. Yes as time goes on and things get harder in life, it do put a damper on the holiday spirit and the joy of the holidays, gifts and all, but that doesn't have to stop what you know and believe in your heart. Yes you should celebrate him all year round but Christmas is a special day designated so that every believer can celebrate it together and as one in unity. Don't forget Christmas has the name of the true purpose in it. CHRIST. That's why is it called is called CHRIST-mas, to celebrate the birth of CHRIST. So don't put X-mas, believers, put the meaning back in the holiday CHRIST-mas.!!

I agree with you. It's seems like everyone forgot the real meaning of Christmas. It's not just about presents. It's about the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Christmas is about being with family and loved ones and coming together to celebrate with each other. It's about being at home and the love and laugher u feel and joy u get at home.
to michelle s: Yes it is true that we do not know that day Jesus was born. But Christmas IS about Jesus Christ. Look at the name Christmas-Christ. That's where the name comes from. If u don't believe in Jesus that's fine. But dont disrespect him by the holiday man made to celebrate his life. Ur answer was cruel and direspectful to all Christians.
to alwayslate: Christ and Jesus are not two diff people. It's Jesus Christ. Get it right.

Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Jesus. This means we should have fun and enjoy seeing family and friends and giving presents because that's what we do to celebrate birthdays.
What is important though is that we don't lose sight of jesus in the midst of all the enjoyment.

And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.
([And] this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)
And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.
And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)
To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

I don't celebrate christmas but agree with you that people forget what its about. They talk about decorations, food, presents... whose going to out do who etc... but not many people bother going to the church etc... I don't understand why some people celebrate it if they say they don't believe in god (since some people say he's the son of god!)

Yes, Christmas is a pagan holiday. Why is the birth of Christ celebrated at this time? The pagan traditions continue.
