Thank you for asking. The self is beyond these bodies,ie; race, color, religion, nationality, job, etc. We are eternal spirit souls, part and parcel of the Supreme Soul. We have an eternal Dharma (occupation) which is to reconnect with the Absolute Truth. The quickest and easiest way to do that is to chant the Maha Mantra (the great mantra for deliverance from suffering and illusion. Go to krishnaculture. for complete details on how to find your real self and occupation. Read- Dharma By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada and Bhagavad Gita As it is. This will bring one to the highest knowing of yourself.

You didn't say how old you are, and whether you are still in school. If not, then get a job, any job you can get. If you don't like it, figure out what you don't like about it, and what job you think would suit you better. Find out what qualifications you need (eg education) for that job, and go for it! If you decide you don't like that job, repeat the process. Good Luck!!

You will know when you find yourself, because you will be satisfied with yourself. No more insecurities, dissatisfaction, etc. Pity that this normally only happens after retirement. So keep striving to make yourself happy in the meantime! Works for me ;)

Suffer and strain to reach a goal. Doesn't really matter what the goal is, just pick one and go after it. When you hit it, do another one.
You sound really young. If you are, bust *** in school and learn to be socially competent.
