Burns
Minor burns can be attended to at home, but if the burn is serious go to the doctor. Here are a few treatments for 1st degree burns:

Lots of cold water on the burn, don't put on ice, just cold water, because the ice can make the pain worst.
That old remedy about butter, well, it doesn't work, so don't do it. It can increase the rate of infection and does nothing.
There is a poultice that you can apply to the burn. The poultice should contain: grated carrots or gauze soaked in carrot juice. A mushroom also works well.
When the wound has started to mend a little you should open a vitamin E capsule and put the liquid over the burn. This will reduce the chance of scarring.
