There's just a lot more slob women who could care less about how they look, so they just choose to get fat, because it's about the easiest thing they can do, and they're all about easy...

Actually, there is some thought that the hormones in meat are causing children to go through puberty earlier. The average age of girls getting their periods is not like 11, compared to years ago when it was 13.

But, for the obesity. Nope. It's cause we sit in our offices 8-10 hours a day, then go home and watch TV and goto bed. Not much time for exercise.

And we eat crap.... You should see all the holiday food in my office....

....maybe I will walk over there and get some...lol

If it's hormones in the meats, wouldn't men be getting bigger too? I honestly think it's just too easy to eat these days. When you think about it, you didn't have nearly as many choices a couple decades ago. We have HUGE portions, cheap fast food, buffets are everywhere. It's crazy! I think if we cooked our food and ate meals instead of on the run we'd be smaller. JMHO

I don't know if it's hormones in the meats, but here are few things that have changed: no Jane Fonda crazes so no social impetus to keep fit, TiVo and Starbucks. I'm not trying to be glib. I really believe that these social and cultural trends have contributed to the general apathy towards fitness.

There is an obesity epidemic in America. Women are not the only obese people. Children and men are obese too. Meat could be one serious culprit. How many obese vegetarians do you know??

Could be the hormones but I think that has more to do with early development than weight gain. It's probably more due to a sedentary lifestyle.

Eat too much meat, vegetables, fruit, nuts, candy, whatever - - hormones or not, you'll get fat. Food makes fat.
It's not near as important what you eat as how much you eat.

The same reason *men* and *children* are getting heavier. . .we all eat more these days, since fast food and junk foods are so much more accesible.

Because they don't care about the way they look. I have exercised all my life and if you don't have the mindset for that sort of thing, it is hard to start.
