I love pennywort! It grows right of the surface of my tanks (tanks all have lids so it's moist in there even out of the water). They will grow huge out in a pond. Supposedly, humans can eat them (they smell kind of spicy but, um, no thanks, I've got veggies in the frig). I don't think I"ve ever seen flowers on them so I don't kow what their means of propagation is but the little cuttings I dumped in this one tank have all multipled so now I'll probably have to thin them down. Some of my small fish like to use the leaves as beds, very cute. Mine seem to need lots of light, they get soggy and die if they don't get enough light. You can plant them or let them float. I don't CO2 or fertilize them either (except what the fish naturally contribute) and they do just fine. They will get long and leggy if you don't trim them back periodically.

Yeah, penny wort spreads like wildfire! I usually just let mine float, sometimes I anchor one end of it but it tends to come out.

It's a high light plant, but if you let it float it can be fine in low light because it's close to the light.

Try getting a school oto cats, 4 or 5 of them, they love penny wort.
