It's likely. He's had a lovely long life, and is lucky to have lasted so long. When my hamster's time came he was very similar, except for the fur loss. He hadn't been healthy for a while - kind of weak, sleepy, and he had an abscess in his belly that had been needing treatment for a few months - but one evening he got worse. Shaky, very weak and obviously not long to go. He died later that night. I'd call the vet, and ask his opinion as to whether your hammy is suffering. If it's just old age that he's suffering from, he probably isn't in any pain. I advise you to spend a whole lot of time with him, keep him in a warm room possibly cradled in your hands, keep it nice and quiet and peaceful to avoid stressing him, and just enjoy his company. If he is dying, then hamsters don't usually spend more than a day or two in this stage. Once he starts shaking and is terribly weak he probably won't last many more hours. Just to warn you, he may start fitting at some point. Best wishes to you both, I know how sad it is when this happens.

Hi sweetie,
I am afraid he is dying.... I am so sorry!
I recently lost my hamster of 2 years and 7 months and the last day he was really slow and cold. They go fast are they ar small creatures and the metabolism is very fast, too.
Just think that your hammy had a long happy life and was happy to have you as a carer! You must have done a good job for him to live sooo long
Well done
x

Sorry to hear this. It's not sounding good, but he is a very old man now and you have been an excellent owner to see him through 3 years. If he is suffering for a long period, the kindest thing is to take him to a vet.

You're lucky to have had your little buddy for this long. Their life span is usually about 2 years. He might be getting ready to cross over to the happy hamster wheel.

i'm so sorry for your loss. It must be a poor feeling to lose a baby, i won't be able to even start up to imagine the discomfort you're feeling. i imagine out of those 3, As I Lay Me Down is the finest selection. Ut is about lack of life, and being so close that lack of life is not any impediment. i'd not propose the different 2 even with the truth that. different songs that are reliable are: a million. One sweet Day - Mariah Carey/Boyz 2 adult males. 2. You advance Me Up - Westlife. 3. Tears in Heaven - Eric Clapton.
