My computer specs are:
emachines model T6212
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (2.0 speed)
1.28 Gig of RAM.
150 GB
MSI Radeon Xpress 200 series (heard it's now called something else like xpress crossfire 1600 series. I think it's 128 MB card)

I want to be able to play games like FEAR and Doom 3. I play WoW currently and have no problems at all. So, I would like to know if my comp is good enough to play those two 2 games and others like it, or will I need to upgrade.

I have about 300 bucks to work with for upgrades. I would just like to know what upgrades would be good for my computer, or would I be better off saving up for a new computer at this point?

I have the same model, the T6212 bought spring of 2005.
I have made the following upgrades and have no problems with graphics etc.
You MUST get a dedicated graphics card. The integrated video won't do it. Oh! And your hard drive, if original, is 160gig.
I added:
550 watt power supply.
Increased my memory to 1.5gig.
Installed X1600 Pro GPU (this is why I had to upgrade the power supply!
One of the good things about the T6212 is it is so easily upgraded.
P.S. It seems you have already upgraded your memory:)
Total cost for power supply and X1600Pro GPU....Less than $200 on newegg.com.

Your specs are fine. I Have an athlon 2800 1Gb of ram and only 120 GB of HD space. My video card has 256 Mb of memory. I think the min for Doom is 128 (I may be wrong, would have to re read the specs)

in the experience that your employing it just to get admission to internet and get carry of, perhaps an further stressful tension could be high quality. each and every thing enormously much less costly now, you could actual get a superb pc for some hundred. I additionally spent a fortune years in the past on my pc, presently outfitted my own pc that's hundreds quicker yet expenses hundreds much less. you could actual destroy out with upgrading even with the undeniable fact that it could merely flow so some distance, and in case you prefer to do extra including your pc then what you have defined to me so some distance then paying for a clean equipment could be extra beneficial and bear in mind your cutting-edge equipment is previous, it somewhat is going to die at last and upgrading is constrained to the scarce products that certainly experience including your equipment.

It seems like you have a nice machine as it is, you might want to upgrade the RAM to 2 gigabytes if you have the slot available and upgrade the video card to an aftermarket one.
