I got a music CD at the library. It doesn't play on any CD player. I just get an "disc error" message.

I tried cleaning it with a disk cleaner, no luck. It doesn't appeared to be badly scratched or damage.

Anyone have any thoughts/ideas?

Thanks.

Creamy peanut butter.....ok don't make a sandwich or something like that. Get a tissue and put a small and I do mean small amount of peanut butter on the recorded side of the cd and wipe it off with a tissue. It has worked on many of my cd's.

I've often found that the center ring of a CD is critical in playback. Examine the center ring for signs of wear or damage. There may be nothing you can do about it if it's damaged.
Also examine the media itself, the replective material inside the CD. Is it bubbled up or unshiny in places?
I've run my CDs under the water faucet and wiped them off with a towel to fix them. Since you used the cleaner, that's probably not the issue, though.

Follow the error message;may be unsuitable for your player.Try to load it on your computer if you have Music engine or window media player.Copy the music on your hard drive and convert it into mp3 file and than create a new Music CD if your drive is compatible.Which you can play on any CD player.Use CD-R or CD-RW.If you have a software like Roxio easy CD creator-will repair your CD.
