Why? I never understand this. I am a computer science grad student and get made fun of whenever I tell people that I use an Apple Mac (Dual 2.3, G5). Most people either use XP or a LINUX strain. They usually say something like, "It's only got one mouse button!!. It's a toy!!. Pretty computers are dumb!!. Get a REAL OS, like XP!!...It doesn't even have a command line!!" (Actually, it does...you just don't need it).
As it turns out, most of these people have never even used a Mac...so what's the deal? Both Windows and LINUX are decent systems, but every version of Windows I have run seems to have stability problems. I have the released version of Vista 32-bit Ultimate at work and it still has bugs (this is NOT a beta). I don't have a lot of experience with LINUX, but the versions I have used seem to make you work harder for the same result. Besides, Macs are UNIX based too.
So...why do people hate Apples? Mine never crashes and does everything I need it to...

Difficult to use?? Ummm...I'm guessing you haven't used one. Have you? Maybe it is because I have used Macs since system 8, but they are incredibly easy to use!!! Chances are if you can't do something, you just aren't looking at the right option menu.

Russell, I wish you and I could sit down over a beer and chat...there are so many things you don't seem to understand....like Macs now run Windows...and LINUX, if needed... I may not change your mind, but I could still teach you a little.
