Can you get a plug and play dvd player for a PC?

There are USB external DVD drives but they are moderately expensive and transfer times are limited by the transfer speed of the particular media type that you are using (as previously stated, preferred media types would be USB or IEEE 1394, or Firewire).

Yes just make sure its a USB type or a Firewire. The only thing though, you end up spending about 70 dollars more. Good luck!

almost all of them are plug and play either internal or external (no additional drivers necessary)
