Why do people (especially middle aged) think the whole freaking universe revolves around them? And any idea how to tell them nicely that it doesnt

Seriously I would love to know the answer to HOW TO TELL THEM IT DOESNT.

We live in an instant gratification culture...if you dont believe me, go see how pissed off people are if they wait at McDonalds for 5 minutes. We have On Demand cable and TiVo so EVERYTHING can be scheduled to fit our "busy" lives. People at work are expected to work doubletime, then they take out that same attitude on people in any service industry, as well as the people at home. Its just a rough cycle without an end.

I think that alot of it stems from entitlement. People think that they are 'entitled' to demand things, especially the demographic you are explaining. Look at it logically. They worked hard to get where they are at today, and they think that things should now be made easier for them, because they have endured their share of difficulties and hardship.

If I were in your position, I would just tell them "Hey, I only have 2 hands, myself" or "please speak to me civilly or not at all, I am also a person with feelings!"

Well depending on who you're saying this to and if they have a sense of humor, simply say, "Marsha Marsha MARSHA!" ha ha ha if not then you could try the sarcastic remark, "It's not always about you, ya know." Otherwise you could just not say anything at all.
