I bought a dell inspiron 6400 and the dvd I burned (DVD-R) can not be played in my DVD player, although I used to play others DVD-R that I burned using my desktop

Maybe you should try burning with another program or using another DVD player. try Intervideo thats what i use and its wonderful

Are you using the same brand of dvd-r as before. I have used many brands and not all work on all dvd players. Like I just bought a 50 pack of dvd-r staples brand and they are no good for movies just data. I like to use the yellow fuji ones. They work the best on my philips dvd player. Try a different brand of dvd-r or +r

I also have problems with DVD-R, I switched to DVD+R and have had no more problems. Assuming your DVD burner will burn +R movies, I'd recommend trying that!
