I live in the midwest and it was 57 degrees yesterday! In December! Can anyone tell me why it is so warm? I cannot recall any December being this warm...and one especially without snow!

mostly because of normal variability

partially because of overpopulation and subsidized oil in the US. end oil subsidies by raising the gas tax

hi ... yes its because global compressed gases that we all pr educe
and shifting currents that move back and forth that is effecting cold and warm temperatures around the planet . like winter the earth rotates on slightly more of and angel then the summer that pr educes colder temperatures although it not the case any more
they put it in a nice way of saying it unseasonable like conditions really the equator that divides the north , and south poll all the hot air, and gases pr educed have no were to go esept play a part on us that give a disruption , and some what be bad as the planet gets older..

It is probably global warming, with possibly some help from El Nino. Seems like Washington and such are getting hit with a lot of rain/snow and getting colder while the Eastern part of the US is drying out.

im not in the midwest, but i know what you mean, i think almost everywhere is really warm this winter so far, the warmest on record for us in England, not even a frost yet. But it is because the wind is still coming from the south, really strongly, but it is meant to turn to the north in January bringing Siberian winds with lots of snow!! im not sure if your weather system works in a similar way, but it normally is just a strange wind direction from the south, or ocean, wait for it to change!!!

I don't know, it's been warm here in Michigan too (well, warm compared to a normal December anyway). I love it.

I like it warm.
Warm it's better than too cold or too hot.

but I think it's due to the hole in the ozone and the global warming of the planet
