I had a bit of breakout recently but my skin has cleared now and I just have some big red marks. In fact I'm not sure if they were insect bites, but they are not infected or swollen, just red patches. Without makeup I look terrible, and I am going to stay over at someone's house with quite a few people there. I can't wake up in morning looking like I have a disease! Can I put concealer over the bad areas while I sleep? Is it really bad for your skin, or ok for just one night?

For one night u will be okay. I would just suggest that as soon as u wake up to wash ur face well and just reapply. I shouldnt say this but my mom sleeps in her makeup all the time because she is so busy and her skin is so soft and smooth at fifty. And I wash everynight and i have blemishes every now and then.

It really depends on the quality of the makeup. If this is something u may be doing until u get comfy showing people your skin i would suggest investing in a high quality makeup that doesnt clog your pores. I would use foundation instead of concealer because concealer could be a little thick and not allow ur pores to breathe depending on how u apply it. go to sephora or their website and do some research on a good foundation and concealer.

One night will not hurt your face, just make the pillow cover messy. Take a pillow cover from home, place it over the one at the home your are staying, and remember to take it off when you first wake up. Then no one should know you wore a concealer.

You need to ask someone what is causing the problem if the "bites" are still there after several days.

It I believe that it depends on the person. Vidal Sassoon taught that if you cleanse properly in the morning you can wear makeup to bed and it is good for your skin. Your pillow is the dirtiest place for your skin to touch other than your fingers. Our hair picks up polution, dirt, oils, dead skin etc. and when we sleep, our hair is smushed into our pillows. We then smush our faces in the same pillow. Sassoon says Makeup can prevent some of that grime (that starts breakouts) from entering our pores. It does not make you age. Your heriditary line determines how you age. Other factors like stress and illness speeds the process. Soap hurts skin by destroying the acid mantle. Use low ph shampoo or a cleansing cream or clear soap to cleanse in the morning. Sassoon also said if you cleanse your skin be fore you go to bed, apply a thin layer of foundation to protect the skin from your pillow. Makeup isn't dirty, it's not cleansing properly that's the problem. Also, your skin breathes at night and pores open more. If you moisturize before going to bed you are more apt to have puffy eyes in the morning. Your foundation should not contain too much oil. Use a water based formula. Mineral oil is a real ager. Good luck and have a dreamy sleep.

It wont hurt your skin to sleep in it just once. Repeated can completly clog your pores. If you're acne prone you really need to get a deep cleaning facial mask and make sure to use a cleanser and toner religiously. Most people leave out the toner, but thats what closes your pores, so that when you put on makeup they wont clog resulting in embaressing breakouts.

They make skin colored acne treatment thet works great. It wears just like a concealer but contains acne medications to help dry the little buggers out. Neutragena makes a good one called "on the spot". I use it during the day, but to use it at night would work good without clogging your pores.

The few times I sleep in my make up I end up breaking out right bad, so i wouldn't wear actual make-up.

Happy sleep over!

I think for one night should be fine, but be prepared for a possible break out the next day. I would say put some baby wipes in your purse, so when you leave the next morning you can remove the make up, that way it doesn't stay on too long & your skin can breathe.

Its really bad for your skin and HEALTH to sleep with you makeup on. Doesn't matter where you are you should everynight wash your face and if you have nivea or some other ones put it on your face and you face would be so beatiful. Like you said that you look terrible without makeup don't put any of powder cause that is just making your face worse and worser. Put i little lipstic or lipgloss and a little bit of eyeshadow and nivea on you face and that would be perfect. I was putting powder on my face and now I stopped cause I relised that my face is getting worse and I have a red spots on my face and now they are gone. I just put lipstick or lipstick ( but not too much) and nivea and that is all. If you put lots and lotssss of makeup everyday and sleep with your makeup when you get older your face will look horrible.
Thanks

You could try a mineral makeup that is supposed to not clog pores. I think for one night it would be ok to sleep in makeup, but don't get into the habit and make sure that it is an oil-free makup

conceal up can clog your pores in case you actually do it once later on it should not be too undesirable yet i'd ignore continuously and had a breakout so i imagine you'd be fantastic only make constructive you're taking it off precise in the morning :)
