That is the wrong way to plan your life and career. There are many fields that would pay incomes of $50,000 + but if you don't enjoy what you do, you'll be miserable and probably won't be good at what you do. There are many books based on the idea of "Do what you love and the money will follow" That is so true. You could start as a trash collector part-time during college and end up a multi-multi-millionaire like the owner of 1-800-Gotjunk. You could also become a doctor, not care about the work or people, and become a low-class medic in some back alley. The main importance is your attitude and your abiltity. You could love computer games, develop a new one, get a college degree in software design and become stinking rich. (my nephew retired at age 34!!) If you're skilled at mathematics, you go go to college or university, study advanced mathematics and theories and become a professional poker player. Right now, welders in their second year of training are getting hiring bonuses of 10k plus earning 90k a year working in Fort McMurray,Alberta, Canada due to the oil boom. The college counsellor can advise you best but before you go in decide the top 3 things you are happiest doing, then talk about how these interests can be applied to a career. Select your studies based on that. Good luck!.

Any college or university advisers can help you examine career paths that will allow you to get a degree in an area that is known for producing the income you desire, but they also can help you choose an occupation that you have an interest in.
If a person chooses a career only for the money, they will generally discover that they can not possibly do a good job at either getting the degree or working in the profession. If you are going engage in a lifelong employment, you should enjoy what you are doing, because then you will do the best job.
Get a hold of the colleges and/or universities you are interested in attending and speak to an adviser. They can help you decide which is the best degree for you.

College doesn't have to be the only way to make $50k plus. Try being an entreprenuer based on a true passion - if that passion requires more education then go from there. Good Luck!
