Yep. I thought we had a lot in common (both kind of shy, good students, want to be teachers, etc.) but it seems to me now that she is evasive, whereas I am more direct. I thought she was the type who could talk things out together, who would be more responsive than she is. I was wrong though. I guess we just project whatever good traits we desire on the people who fit a certain image. I think it sometimes means that we have (or could potentially have) the traits we thought the "friend" had, which is a sort of good consolation I guess.

YES! I had a good friend who seemed so nice all the time. Then one day I started to realize she was kind of...evil. Seriously, she would put people down all the time and was always me me me. In the end I ended up thinking she was a sociopath and cut off ties with her when she said she would kill someone if she didn't get caught. CAHRAZY!!! Ever since that whole ordeal, I am so wary of people.

yes, she was one of my best high school friends, who later married my brother and they had a child together. She turned out to be a real Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde, and holds their child as sort of a ransom for us to be able to see her.
