Does anyone know of any websites that critique, peer review, edit, or otherwise offer feedback on written works, fan fiction or original? One of the obstacles I'm facing these days is that none of my friends or relatives are writers/readers, none of them are critical enough, and none of them know enough about my chosen genre to give any sort of useful advice. So I feel funny, and sort of bad, for giving them stuff to critique (the last thing I'm sure they want is more work to do). Does anyone know of any resources that offer a sort of feedback/critique service? I've looked through the other answers, but the websites are either defunct or don't offer this service in a clear manner (I have no idea how to navigate writing.com to get this service).

Many of the websites you are looking for are hire based. You need to pay for their services. There is a site, Penumbras, that is run by a writer, where you can have peer based critiques by other writers who are members of that site. If you are looking for something more professional I suggest hiring a proof reader. If not, you can check out the url below, become a member, & submit your work.
