My parents have all these records from the 80s and I want to get them a record player for Christmas. I'm not looking to spend too much money, but where would I find one?

Try Ebay. Do your parents have a stereo that has an Auxilary plug or phono plugs on the back? If so, all you need is the Turntable. If you look on ebay, make sure the turntable comes with the stylus,(Needle) sometimes they are more expensive and harder to find than the turntables. If you don't want to go the ebay route, you can usually find one model at both Best Buy and Circuit City. You will probably have to ask somebody where they are cause they are usually in a dark corner somewhere. If you ask a young sales associate about them and get a blank stare or a quick "we don't carry those", find an older associate that has actually witnessed the magic of the vinyl.
If your parents don't have a stereo that can accomodate turntable jacks, then you would probably have to settle for a phonograph player. These have the amp and speakers integrated into the unit. These are all considered antiques and you would probably have to find these on ebay. Sound quality of these units is less than desirable.

Ha,ha,ha Good luck the last one I saw was at Radio shack about 5 years ago. But you might find one at an audio store (one that sells stereo systems ) if you are very lucky. It will be around $150.00 to $250.00 but will be a good one. Could try some pawn shops if it doesn't have to be new.....
