Well, I love and treasure them...especially my son!!! They are wonderful people who work very hard to do everything that other people do...and they succeed!!
I have to clear up one thing that another answerer said. Down syndrome is not a "terrible disease". I think I know what he was trying to say, but DS is not a disease...you cannot "catch" it and it cannot be cured. It is a random genetic anomoly. Also, I would hope that rather than feeling sorry for a person with Down syndrome, people would simply accept them for who they are... regular, human beings who just need a little help now and then.

I love Down's Syndrome people because they are so sweet and innocent. One of my good friends has a child with Down's who is a real sweetheart. I have known this kid for almost 20 years and love him dearly. Many people react negatively to Down's kids but I think it is because they just don't know how sweet they are.

they are people too, and deserve to be treated as such, just as u would treat anyone else, with respect and dignity. some people see them as less than a person because they are different. but they know when they aren't being treated right, they have feelings too. all i have to say is there go you but for the grace of god, as they didn't ask to be born like that, had they had a choice in the matter. think the good lord put them here, to teach us all about compassion. they need to be included, and know people accept them for who they are. it does hurt them to be looked at and pointed at, they know better than any of us that they are different.

More importantly what is YOUR view? And how do you react when you see them. Most of them are far friendleir and more fun to be around than so called "normals" in general.
Sounds like you are a bit bigoted there. Some spiritual people say they are advanced souls who have returned to life to help others learn things, perhaps things like acceptance of others.

Well, I am pretty used to them, seeing that my mom is a social worker with people that have that and other things like OCD, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, ect. I actually love to talk to them, and am one of few people that understand them. I guess I inherited that from my mom.
I actually want to be a social worker that does what my mom does when I'm older.

I feel like helping them. I feel sorry and say a silent prayer. Its a terrible disease but i try my best NOT to conform to societies standards of beauty and try to find the beauty in everyone.

I'm quite fond of them. I think they are the most honest and emotionally uncluttered segment of the population.

I think they're fine. Nothing wrong with them. Most of them are quite intelligent and functional.
