Of what type?
The new Battlestar Galactica on SciFi channel gets my vote overall (and is the runaway winner for people who like Science Fiction)
LOST is great, The Wire is the best crime drama, House is the best medical drama- dunno about comedies ever since they cancelled Arrested Development :) Desperate Housewives I guess...

LOST!! I actually just discovered it recently, watching all the DVDs rapidly. I caught up just in time to watch the fall finale of season 3. aaarrggghh.!! I love the mystery, the premise... I like the unique way they've put the show together, helping us know the characters through flashbacks. That is cool!! Plus great characters, Kate, Charlie, Hurley, Locke......

House and NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigative Service). Both are dramas with plenty of comedy to keep it from being too overwhelming. They both have talented casts who are all generally "good looking". And the writing on both are phenomenal.

Everybody Hates Chris, it is a spin off of the comidian Chris Rock's childhood. It is very funny, however they show a lot of repeats.
