I found out i was pregnant and had an ultrasound a week ago because i wasn't sure how far along I was. The lady doing the ultrasound said that I had to be 4 1/2 weeks along because she couldn't see anything. I know I am farther along then that because I was 3 1/2 weeks late already when I took the pregnancy test. Could she be wrong? and I believe I am about 8 weeks or 7 weeks pregnant and showing. My pants arn't fitting me right I had to rubberband them to make them fit. I'm not getting sick I just feel sick all the time... I'm tired all the time... my breast hurt horribly.... my mother is a twin and my father is a twin and I had a great grandpa a twin. . . do you think I could be showing because I might be having twins... and could that effect why the ultrasound lady couldn't see anything?

Your pelvis is spreading to make room for your growing uterus. That is the first thing that happens in pregnancy, even before the baby bump. Relax, this doesn't mean you're having twins. Wait for another ultrasound, or see if the Dr. hears two heartbeats. Don't panic!

it's your pelvis getting wider. the ultrasound could be wrong i had one at 8 weeks and then another at 27 weeks and come to find out i was already 30 weeks. so the early ultrasounds don't really tell much. it's possible you could be pregnant with twins but you shouldn't be showing that early. you are probably farther along than they think otherwise you wouldn't be going through all that you're going through so soon. good luck and congratulations.

They will keep up with you in two ways....
the first is the date from your last cycle and the second is the estimated date of your first missed period. When you go for your first visit they will share all that with you.

Twins in the family up your chances for having them. So, you will porbably be sent for an ultrasound or they may do it in office about 12 weeks or so to monitor progress. Some can tell right off and others take a few more weeks to stop hiding behind their sibling and start showing off.

My uterus was just growing faster than my oldest daughter was, so they sent me for another ultrasound and I wasnt carrying twins.

Good luck and God bless with whatever it turns out to be.

If your mother is an identical twin that isn't hereditary. The only hereditary factor in conceiving twins is hyper-ovulation where more then one egg is released per cycle. As for twins skipping a generation that's a myth. The only way to know for sure is wait for your next sonogram to see if there are two heartbeats. Good luck.

Well, at first your pants will get tight. You wont necessarily have a little bump, but you will feel like it. You could be further along than they think. The machine could of been messed up, or she could of just sucked doing her job. It is VERY possible you can have twins if both parents are twins!

No it doesn't nessacerialy mean twins. It means you are pregnant it is normal for clothes to be tight. Usually twins skip a generation. Like you said a great grandfather then a parent. Most likely your kids would have twins not yourself, but you never know.

It really depends if you had a kid before and how big you are. I am 8 weeks along with my second but i have lost so much weight from morning sickness that i am showing now. If you are smaller then you show sooner.
