The picture you have uploaded is showing the set from the audience's perspective, not the drummer's.

If you are right handed then perhaps you should try this.

Setup the bass pedal for your right foot and your hi-hat for you left foot. Make them a comfortable distance apart.

When sitting on your throne, feet on the pedals, your snare drum should be between your knees and lower then your hi-hat cymbals.

Play with this configuration until you are comfortable with it. These three items form the core of your set.

Once you are comfortable with that arrangement, mount your toms, set your floor toms and place the rest of your cymbals where you can easily reach them without stretching. Generally, your ride cymbal should be to your right front, as you will often play that with your right hand.

Good luck.

If you are right handed, you want the snare and high hat to be on your left. You use your right foot for the bass drum. You have it set up left handed.

I set up my kit so I was comfortable. I'm ambidextrous so it was a lot of trial and error.
