I think a lot of it has to do with we're not sure the other person is going to like what we recommend, because everyone's taste in movies is different.

Well, I have no problem recommending a good movie to watch.
Like now, A good movie to watch is Grave of the Fireflies. It's really moving.

I do the same thing. I think it's because so many possibilities run through my mind at same time. Things like something new, something funny, something sad, something family or something scary. All the possibilities lead to brain lock and all that I can say is uhh uhhh uhhh. LOL. Otherwise I have brainiac answer for you.
