Why do white people think this country belongs to them?

I always hear the term, why don't blacks go back to Africa or some other nonsense like that. I'm white but even my ancestors were foreigner of this country at one time.

You actually answered your own question! Whom does this country belong too, since it seems that all races (B/W/H/N/O/ etc) seem to mix in one way or another. In addition, alot of our ancestors migrated to America (per better living and jobs) or were forced from another country or in fact were forced to give up their land at one point of time in our history. So who do you think this Country (America) belongs too? When I hear that term, you should go back to Africa, which no one has ever told me that! I think its absurd for the simple fact African Americans were enslaved, capture and brought to America! Why the hek would, we want to go back to Africa if America is where we were born and raised! In fact I do not know if this is true or not but, I always hear that true Africans from Africa do not like African Americans. So, I say to those people who say go back to Africa, WHY DON'T YOU GO TO AFRICA. Every race has a right and privilege to call this country their home just like you.

if u r talking about america, then the country is neither of yours, it is the indians, but there is also the theme of that in England where the country does belong to the whites, and should do what they can to protect their heritage from the blacks and muslims so that they dont end up like the indians in america, because at the current rate of immigration, they could soon be the minority, nd almost already are in London

OK. Another white/black question from someone trying to prove they aren't racist, prejudice or insensitive. First of all, all white people don't think that way. It is prejudice to think that way. If you live here and are a citizen of this country, then this is your country. The past is irrelevant. I feel for the Native Americans and Hispanics that may have inhabited this country before. Now we are all Americans. Quit trying to start something and lets just concentrate on improving our own lives and those around us. Let's be a "Country" and not be white, black, red, or brown. We are all immigrants of some sort - even the Native Americans.

That what i been saying. some people say that this country belongs to the the white but if you look at history, you can see that they were other people here before the mayflower came. so they shouldn't be saying that. if that the case i think that we all should go back to our ancestor country.

Since white settlers were the ones that decided to separate themselves from the British monarchy and create the United States of America, and they were the ones that fought and died to defeat the British, the Indians, and the Mexicans to secure the land we now call the U.S.A., who else has as much right to claim it as theirs?
