i tried many many many MUD games...first Avalon and FirstAge....but I have to pay Avalon, and firstage is quite...empty...
Then I tried Imperian (cool...but i can't learn up to max my skills without spending real money for credits), then Achaea (which i am currently playing...it is very rich and I like the fact that housemates are online most of the time...so I can simply communicate with them
And I've tried other games like: GodWars2, Icesus, Legends of Karinth, Lands of Despair (i don't think it is exactly called like this)...Armageddon was cool (very nice theme), the single minus was that they've dropped you in the world and do whatever you wish...and I didn't know what can I wish....
Carrion Fields, (another game...but forgot the name), Materia Magica etc etc etc...many of them...I just started to see what's in it...but this didn't help too much to take my decision.

So...what MUD game do you think is the coolest?:D (remember...without having to pay real money)

usually, the first one you play and do really good at will be your favorite - for me, that was Age of Dragons

i quit years ago, and when i last used to play, we werent' getting that many players. the most players we had, back in the day, on at the same time was like 32, and that was a LOT, believe it or not.

it is based on dragonlance - the spinoff of DnD - and looks pretty decent. last i know, it's circle based, so it looks quite old - text only, no ascii crap

Best Mud Games

The Final Challenge is my favorite. There's a god/follower system. Many classes and skills, individual hometowns, attributes to each of many different races, player kill with corpse looting, levelling with different skills and spells for each level, good/evil/neutral alignments based upon following, active players and immortals, a huge range of armor, weapons, and items, massive world with new areas being added all the time, players can contribute to the world, and best of all..

random equipment! Many muds don't have this, but it adds a new dimension to the world. It allows you to find good items to sell for lots of gold or increase your character. Plus, if you kill someone (it's pretty well regulated.. pk I mean) you can take their gear, which can be very nice.
