hi ive got a citroen which has just had mot so obviosly theres nothing wrong with them
but the squeeky brakes are driving me mad ant ideas why they are squeeking?

There is also a vibration that can set up a squeal. the tabs squeal also.

Have some pad silencer applied to the pads. this keep dirt out and acts as a cusion against the caliper thus preventing the squeal. If you have over 40K on the pads you shuould have the pads and rotors changed anyway they will be just about worn out.

There is a tab on the brake pad that contacts the brake rotor when the pad is nearly worn out. Designed to make a squeaking sound to alert you your brakes need service.

Maybe this was missed during your inspection.

they are dirty or the rotors have a glaze on them
